Despite our best efforts, including ten years of lobbying the City Council and a lot of money for attorneys, the developers had no difficulty outspending us and the City had no conscience. At the moment the project is underway, but stalled while it is decided what to do with about 20 ancient burials discovered in initial grading. I hear from friends in the heighborhood the area is overrun with rats displaced by grading. We moved to another city so as not to have to watch it get built, stalled in traffic on our way to work each day. |
